Civil Partnership ceremonies are an ideal way for couples to be able to show their commitment to each other in a public way and for their families and friends to bear witness to their proclamation.
Perhaps the most important thing is that the ceremony should be personal, sincere and meaningful. Carefully planned and written in consultation with you, Civil Partnership ceremonies can include an exchange of vows, poems, readings, the exchange of rings and of course music!
As well as your participation you may also wish to encourage your family and friends to take part in whatever way you want them to.
Your ceremony will be as unique and special as you are. It should reflect your individuality and personality and allow you to create a very personal, sensitive, beautiful ceremony for you both to share and enjoy with your family and friends.
Civil Partnership Ceremonies can take place either indoors or outdoors – it all depends on the venue suitability and of course – the weather! It can take place at a hotel, in a garden, in a club, at home or at a venue that is special to you both. Not forgetting of course that you can always use a venue that is unusual like a canal boat or the regal splendour of a stately home or castle. Or for that really romantic venue – at the waters edge near sunset!
Wherever or whatever you choose an AOIC Celebrant will create a ceremony for you that will have long lasting memories that you will be able to cherish and remember forever.
Many couples do not request or indeed want a legal partnership ceremony under the ‘Civil Partnership Act’ of 2004 but do want a partnership ceremony to demonstrate their love for each other.
IMPORTANT – A UK Civil Partnership Ceremony is not recognised under the Civil Partnership Act 2004. To legally register under the Act you will have to do so at a Registrars Office.
