A renewal of vows ceremony provides couples with an opportunity to say “I do” all over again!
There are many reasons a couple may choose to renew their vows. Often these ceremonies are conducted to mark a significant anniversary; sometimes they take place after a couple have been through a difficult time and have come out the other side, and sometimes they mark the beginning of a brand new chapter in their lives.
Many couples do not initially manage to have the dream wedding they always wanted and would like a ‘second chance’; others simply loved their wedding day so much that they want to relive it again and again. No matter what the reason is, no one has to have only one wedding ceremony!

The content of a renewal of vows ceremony is often similar to a wedding, but the vows and sentiments expressed can be even more meaningful, deepened by years of shared experience. As with all celebrant-led ceremonies, the content is tailor made for each individual couple, focusing on their unique story, values and tastes.
Couples can renew their vows whenever and however many times they want. The ceremony is not legally binding and the couple’s original wedding certificate will not be altered. Rather, the ceremony is a chance to renew your love and commitment and share this wonderful experience with your closest family and friends.
Where can we hold our renewal of vows?
Renewal ceremonies can be held almost anywhere you choose – ceremonies take place in hotels, stately homes, golf clubs, woodlands, fields… you name it. You may even choose to host the ceremony in your own home or garden. Remember to think about options for afterwards as well – most people like to have a reception after the ceremony, providing drinks and food for their guests and perhaps extending the celebrations with an evening party.
You might want to go for a big celebration akin to typical wedding day, or you might prefer something more low-key and intimate. Either is fine, and anything in between.
How do I find a celebrant?

Finding the right celebrant is important, so do some research, ask some questions and then go with your instinct when it says: ‘this is the celebrant for us’. A good celebrant will listen to what you want, provide plenty of ideas, write you a ceremony as per your wishes, and work with you until it is perfect. And finally, they will conduct your ceremony with professionalism and warmth, so that you can relax and enjoy every moment.
