I joined the Royal Air Force in 1974 as a Military Police Officer. After 22 years my career changed direction when I became a Logistics Team Manager for a well-known retail company. As a result of these differing but unique professional journeys, I was given an opportunity to interact with all walks of life all over the world. This allowed me to develop my literary and public speaking skills.
It is fair to say that becoming a Funeral Celebrant was never on my radar. That is until I was asked to deliver a eulogy at a family funeral. I then started to realise that many of my personal qualities endeared me to this challenging new role. It now provides me with a rewarding opportunity to guide people through difficult times, whilst demonstrating compassion and empathy with a view to creating a dignified ‘theatre of occasion’ to help celebrate life. With an emphasis on ensuring that a family’s wishes are met.
