Jenny Seed is a qualified celebrant based in Dumfries & Galloway. She conducts ceremonies in South West Scotland, Gretna, Dumfries, Annan, Lockerbie, Moffat & Edinburgh.
The celebration of a life event should be as unique as the individual. My mantra is “All you need is love”. The experience of sharing love is a defining feature of what it means to be human.
As a trained celebrant I am interested in the way we relate and connect with each other, and how relationships define us as unique and special individuals. My interest in ceremony has grown from a long career in adult social care. I use a person centred approach to create relationships that are based upon trust. Through my work, I have the privilege of seeing people’s lives from their point of view. In doing so, I have nurtured a genuine understanding of what love can bring in good times and in bad. I live my life empathically and strive for tolerance, respect and equality.
I feel honoured to have the opportunity to creatively celebrate love, in whatever way feels right to you. Sometimes finding the right words can be hard, occasionally words are not enough. I can offer you guidance and advice on how to convey your feelings. Storytelling, readings, music or special rituals, such as hand fasting or flower blessings, could bring unique colour and light to your ceremony. You may wish to include a religious element, such as prayer and hymns, or it may be important to celebrate your own cultural inheritance.
I will help you find the language of love to celebrate any major life event, whether it’s your baby naming, wedding, anniversary or vow renewal. Together we could create a lovingly authentic funeral or memorial for a loved one. All ceremonies are created from your specific ideas, and any family member or friend can be involved. My unique ceremonies are lovingly chosen and carefully crafted to illuminate and honour the lives of the individuals that they celebrate.
