Hi! I’m Amy,
An independent wedding, funeral and naming celebrant. I am also a very proud northerner and a spoken word poet.
I love working with people and I’m fascinated by individual stories. We all have them. It is my mission to create ceremonies that celebrate people and the stories of love that make up our lives. I like to imagine people are the colourful threads that make up the fabrics of life, and that life is a patchwork quilt stitched together by journeys – I keep this in mind when I approach all ceremonies with detail and care. Whether you want to celebrate the life of a loved one, the love in your relationship or the gift of a new life, I make sure all ceremonies are uniquely crafted to celebrate life and love in just the right way for you.
Before training as a celebrant, I was an English and Drama teacher for many years. Naturally, I am compassionate and empathic as well as confident and approachable. It is so important to me to build a relationship with the couples and families so that I can truly get a sense of you, what you want, and create a perfect ceremony full of love and vibrancy in the most poignant and emotional moments of your lives.
On a personal level, I have had close encounters with both love and loss which has led me to this very important role, namely, losing my best friend at a young age. I have been on a personal journey with grief and one that has given me an insight to the importance of creating meaningful funerals for families. As well as this, my experience has made me determined to celebrate all the precious moments of love we have on Earth.
