Alyson Matthews – Independent Civil Celebrant
Having recently retired as a full-time teaching professional, I still considered that I had more to give to society which is why I sought to train as a funeral celebrant; an ideal opportunity for me to use all of my experience; dealing with people from all walks of life and helping them through perhaps the most distressing time of their lives.
From a very young age I have had dealings with the public in a number of different contexts, as follows:
· performing in public
· delivering speeches
· adjudicating in Eisteddfodau
· communicating with a wide range of age groups from school children through to the elderly; in a variety of circumstances and arenas.
I am a very considerate, compassionate, highly professional, caring and responsible individual, with good interpersonal skills. As well as being a good communicator, I am a good listener; skills that are vital to the role.
